Pathfinders is a Bible study group for teenagers. The group is open to anyone from Year 10 up to 18 year olds. We meet in the Church Hall at 10.20am on Sunday mornings from September to June (apart from the third Sunday each month when we stay in church for the family service). A typical week at Pathfinders includes fun, food and fellowship as we seek to encourage each other to grow in our faith and live out our faith in our everyday lives.
|X-Ray for all young people 3rd form and up.
Meets 8pm every Sunday in the church hall - contact Bill or Gerardo for more info
|“Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Girls and young women have a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them a chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good” (Girlguiding UK Website 2014)
Knockbreda Senior Section is available to all girls aged 14-25. We meet every Monday night in the Minor Hall from 7.30-9.00pm. Senior Section girls are responsible for their own programme and decide what they want to cover. There is a lot of flexibility within the Senior Section unit to carry out different activities, the girls are currently working towards their Look Wider Octants which allows them to explore different elements of the programme at their own pace, whilst we support and facilitate them in this process. In the past year we have enjoyed a session from a make-up artist giving us some great tips and we have recently been looking at the issue of mental health and allowing the girls to give their opinions on matters which are important to them including what they would do if they were Prime Minister for the day!
We are currently looking forward to and planning our residential event in January at the Brownie House at our Girlguiding Ulster HQ in Lorne where we will be staying for 2 nights. We are also hoping to attend the Belfast County Camp in June at Lorne with other Guiding members from both Guides and Senior Section from across the country.
